About Marie

Marie Clay (Young) is an expert real estate professional with over 25 years of experience selling Real Estate in Sonoma County and Lake Tahoe. Born and raised in Kungsbacka Sweden (a small community outside Gothenburg), Marie grew up adoring her neighborhood, town, and surroundings.  Lover of the outdoors and animals, she became an avid horseback rider and enjoyed skiing the slopes since age three. After graduating school, she worked a year as a ski instructor in Åre Sweden, Marie relocated to Truckee CA in her early 20’s where she discovered an enthusiasm and vivacity to learn and burgeon in the real estate business in California. She teamed up with an experienced Real Estate professional and exuberantly learned the business. While living and working as an agent in Truckee, Marie continued to expound upon her passion for community involvement with the joy of animals and joined the WOOF Search and Rescue Dog Team which included avalanche, water and disaster missions. After marrying in 1999, Marie and her then husband moved to Santa Rosa where together they developed their own small, successful winery and label by planting 30-acres of vineyard in Bennett Valley and the Russian River region. Marie then implemented her knowledge gained in land and vineyard development into her Real Estate business in Sonoma County. She now facilitates the sale and purchase acquisitions of high-end vineyard properties as well as countless residential exchanges.
